2026 Fall Open House

Have you even wondered how 40-car long model trains can traverse a complex layout yet operate smoothly? It’s not magic, but rather it’s careful planning, engineering and construction. You’ll see exactly how it’s done if you visit the Waterloo Region Model Railway Club for our annual 2026 Fall Open House. This isn’t just about tiny toy trains; it’s about serious, prototype railway modelling that captures the grit and essence of real railroading.

  • Operating Trains: Watch crews handle long trains over a multi-level layout.
  • Amazing Engineering: Take a tour of our second floor expansion.
  • Expert Chat: Talk to members who live and breathe the hobby.
  • All Ages Welcome: Bring the kids or come for yourself.

The event runs on Saturday, October 17, from 10 am to 5 pm. There’s no rush, so you can linger as long as you like. Whether you’re a seasoned modeller or just curious, seeing the scale and detail up close changes your perspective.

Don’t just read about the hobby—experience the craftsmanship and dedication firsthand. Take a drive out, explore the layout, and maybe fall in love with the rails.

Hope to see you there!
