CP 40′ boxcar 141695, modelled by Bill Fairhurst, is in a freight entering Sudbury Yard from the east. It is modelled following a prototype photo in Richard Yaremko’s 40′ CP Boxcar Pictorial. Note the paint patches where older data has been painted out and new data added at a later re-weigh. ACI labels appeared on most cars in the 70s. The yellow square is a “no roof walk” warning”. This was all added as found on the photo of the real car. The prototype was an NSC product built in 1954. Bill started with an Intermountain 10’6″ AAR boxcar, then added Sylvan Scale Models NSC-3 ends, and a diagonal panel roof from an old FRP kit. The ladders in the original kit were also replaced with proper 8-rung Canadian style ones. Painting was provided by Jurgen Kleylein, with decaling and paint-patching by Ted Kocyla. Collaborative efforts like this are common among the WRMRC members.
